PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Fort Pierre-based financial institution is growing with an expansion into Wyoming. First National Bank has entered a definitive agreement to acquire Wyoming Bank and Trust. Wyoming Bank and Trust has branches in Cheyenne and Burns, Wyoming. Those branches will become. First Wyoming Bank and Trust Branch of First National Bank. Presently, First National Bank has 16 locations in South Dakota and Colorado. It will expand to 18 with the Wyoming branches, pending regulatory approval. That approval is expected to close by the third quarter of this year. First National Bank began operations in Pierre in 1934 while Wyoming Bank and Trust was founded in 1919. Wyoming Bank and Trust President Jeff Wallace says the partnership with First National Bank will enhance the ability to support customers while offering new opportunities for team members. First National President Craig Davis says by the two banks joining, they will be able to better serve the growing market in the Rocky Mountain region.
