The Pierre Governor Track and Field team will be hosting the Capital City Qualifier today as a total of 14 teams will be in Pierre as we are down to the final two weeks of the regular season.
The Governors will also have local teams of Sully Buttes, Stanley County, Lyman and Potter County attend the event while Aberdeen Central and Huron will be in town from Class AA. This is the third event for the Governors at home with also the Bob Judson and Legion Relays over the course of the season being in Pierre. The Governors are seemingly breaking school records every single time out and Schluesner with a smile on his face, says to watch the 4×200 boys relay team today to break a school record. But overall, Schluesner says seeing all of these school records being broken is exactly why these coaches are doing what they’re doing…
The field events begin at 1:00 with the track events at 2:00 this afternoon at Hollister Field in Pierre.
