Lumberjacks, Black Hawks Even in Clark Cup Championship Series
Both the Muskegon Lumberjacks and the Waterloo Black Hawks would win a game in the first two of the USHL’s Clark Cup Championship Series on Friday and Saturday.
It was a high scoring game on Friday with the Black Hawks taking it 8-5. Waterloo chased the Muskegon goalie in game one in the first couple minutes of the game as they scored three goals on the first four shots of the game. The Black Hawks led 4-1 after one and then had just a 5-4 lead after two. However, Waterloo scored the first two goals of the third to keep hold of the lead and take game one.
In game two, Muskegon scored the final four goals to win 4-1. After Waterloo scored first, Muskegon’s top line would score twice in the latter half of the second to take a 2-1 lead and added an empty netter in the final scored to win.
Former Oahe Capital, Carter Sanderson and the Lumberjacks will be home on Friday and Saturday this weekend for games three and four of the best-of-five series.
