The Pierre Governor softball team will travel out to Sioux Falls today and tomorrow for four games with one being a make-up date as the Govs look for a strong end to the week.
Pierre won a five inning shortened game on Tuesday in Aberdeen beating the Golden Eagles for the second time this season. The Govs will face Brookings first this weekend which is making up the home game which was postponed on Thursday, April 17. Brookings is 4-3 so far on the year. Then the Govs will face Dakota Valley later tonight as the Panthers are 5-2 and in second in the Class A standings. Then on Saturday, the Govs will face two familiar opponents taking on both Yankton and Watertown again as Pierre lost 9-7 to the Gazelles at home and 5-4 against the Arrows in Watertown. Pierre is currently 3-5 on the season but still have 12 games left in the season before May 22.
First pitch against Brookings is at 3:00 with the Dakota Valley game scheduled for 5:30. Pierre opens up Saturday with Yankton at 9:00 AM and then finishing the weekend taking on Watertown at 2:00, all at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls.
