PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Lottery is allowing players the ability to claim prizes through the South Dakota Lottery mobile app. Lotto players will be able to claim both instant and lotto prizes ranging from 101-dollars to five-thousand dollars through mobile cashing. Once a claim has been processed, players will see their prize sent electronically to the ban account of their choosing. Before a mobile means of collecting lottery winnings, players would have to go to a validation office in Pierre, Sioux Falls or Rapid City, if the prize was over 100-dollars. Validating a prize involves opening the Lottery’s mobile app, and scanning a winning ticket, then filling out a claim form. Mobile claims should be completed within four business days. A player’s first mobile prize claim may take up to eight business days due to the bank account verification process. Players will have the ability to check the status of existing and previous claims through the My Claims page on the mobile app. The Lottery advises players with a pending mobile claim to sign the back of their winning ticket and keep it until the claim has been completed.
