Pierre City Commission To Meet Tonight

PIERRE, (KCCR) — Another light agenda comes before the Pierre City Commission tonight. Commissioners will consider approval of a five-item consent calendar. The calendar includes approval of claims, meeting minutes from the February 4th meeting, two new hires and setting a public hearing for two alcoholic beverage license transfers for Larkspur Landing Event Center. Three items of unfinished business are on the agenda. Commissioners will consider awarding bids for the 2025 street paving projects and will consider the plat of two lots in the Gates’ Subdivision. A public hearing will be held at 5:45 pm for an airport lease with the South Dakota Department of Public Safety’s Wildland Fire Division for an air tanker base. New business includes an update on 2025 Summer Recreation programs and two requests to abate property taxes. One is for two lots on West Elizabeth and the second for an address on East Irwin Street. Commissioners will end the meeting by presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building at 5:30 pm.
