Assistant City Engineer Jess Powell says there is no defined ordinance in place on urban chicken use. He told the Council chickens could be used in areas of the city zone agriculture, which is primarily in the northern part of the city. Chicken coops would have to be 200 feet from any residential structure in areas zoned ag. Hanson has only heard from two residents about the issue.
