The Pierre Governors basketball teams will both travel tonight as the girls will travel to Harrisburg while the boys will be on the road to Yankton.
Both Governor teams are looking for wins after being unable to get the win over the weekend. The Pierre girls played tough against undefeated O’Gorman. Pierre wants to carry that effort into tonight against the 6-6 Harrisburg Tigers. The Tigers have lost three in a row and four of five heading into tonight and are now behind the Govs in the AA standings. Pierre is in eighth place in the AA standings and right now would host a SoDak 16 playoff game coming into the first game of February. The Govs are 5-5.
The Governor boys played two tough games over the past weekend and are now 4-8. The Govs sit in 12th place to start the week and take on a Yankton squad struggling to get wins. The Bucks are 2-11 and are outside of a playoff spot. Yankton has lost eight of nine including three in a row. This is the lone game of the week for the Governor boys team.
Dylan Simmons will have the call of the girls game on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Bryce Ladwig on the call of the boys game on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports. Both games have tip off times at 7:00.
