Lady Caps Swept by Mitchell at Home

The Oahe Lady Capitals were unable to beat the Mitchell Marlins with two close losses on Friday and Saturday with a 3-1 loss on Friday and a 3-2 crushing last second loss on Saturday.

The Capitals opened Friday with the lead as Dakota McEntaffer would score a short handed goal midway through the first period. But it was answered quickly with the power play goal by Reese Amick as she would score the game winner in the second period with Vaya Mimmack getting an empty netter to seal the win in the final minute of the game. Sophia Peschong made nine saves on 11 shots.

On Saturday, no one scored until the third period where Amick and Makenna Tronnes both scored as it was answered by Kiersten Miller and Kallee Behm to tie the game each time. However, with just eight seconds left and a scramble in front of the Caps net, Mimmack would find the puck and score to get the win for the Marlins and sweep the season series over the Capitals. Oahe falls to 10-5 on the season while Mitchell improves to 10-7.

Oahe will host Aberdeen next weekend with games on Saturday and Sunday. Both games will be on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
