The Sully Buttes Chargers will be at home on Thursday for a doubleheader as the girls and boys will both host the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots as the boys continue a busy week.
Both girls teams are coming in at 5-7 on the season. Sully Buttes was able to stop its losing skid with a win over Stanley County. The Chargers are tied for fourth in the 6B standings and within striking distance to get to third with some wins. Meanwhile, the Patriots also stopped a three game losing streak with a win over Redfield on Tuesday. Senior Katelyn Schroeder leads the team in scoring at 13.2 points per game for the Patriots.
The Sully Buttes boys are coming off a big win on Tuesday, holding the Stanley County Buffaloes to a 43-40 victory in a slugfest. The Chargers improved to 7-3 on the season and remain in first place in the Region 6B standings by nearly four seed points. Tonight, they face the 4-7 Patriots. The Patriots are a young squad without a senior on the team while sophomores Patrick Maynard and Devin Enander both lead the team in scoring with 15.7 and 13.6 points per game respectively. Hitchcock-Tulare has won back-to-back games over Sunshine Bible Academy and Redfield.
