Fort Pierre City Council Defers Resolution Of Ownership For All-Season Fish Cleaning Station

FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — Fort Pierre is not quite ready to assume ownership of an all-season fish-cleaning station constructed near the Fifth Avenue boat ramp in 2024. City Finance Officer Roxanne Heezen asked the Fort Pierre City Council to not take action on a resolution regarding the building…

The station is tentatively set to open this spring after benches and informational signs are installed at the station later this year. A ribbon-cutting for the station was held in mid-December. The building was funded in a full-volunteer effort with no city dollars going toward construction. The station will be the fourth built along the Missouri River in central South Dakota.
