Stanley County Splits Home Doubleheader with Highmore-Harrold

The Stanley County boys and girls basketball teams would take on the Highmore-Harrold Pirates at home as the girls would fall 49-26, but the boys would pick up a 66-46 win.

The Lady Buffs struggled to score in the first half trailing 23-7 at the break, but then scored 12 points in the third quarter alone, although the lead increased for Highmore-Harrold. Stanley County went 8-13 from the free throw line but 7-8 in the third quarter. The Lady Buffs were led in scoring by JoRayah Walker who had a team high eight points while Cameryn Norman had seven, all in the third. Stanley County drops to 1-6 while Highmore-Harrold is now 6-1.

In the boys contest, Stanley County improves to 4-1 on the season and have won three in a row. Stanley County led 35-25 at halftime and pushed the lead in the fourth to extend the score up to a 20 point margin. Paxton Deal had 21 points for the evening while Eddie Duffy had 19 which included five threes and Kaden Montana finished with 10 as the three were in double figures.

Stanley County will next get a doubleheader with McLaughlin on Thursday on the road while the Highmore-Harrold boys will host Sully Buttes on Thursday and the girls will travel to Onida on Friday.
