Stanley County Commission To Meet Tonight

FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Stanley County Commission is holding its first meeting of the new year tonight. The meeting will start with concluding 2024 business, then starting the first meeting of the year. The Oath of Office will be given to Commissioners Michael Kenzy, Sonny Harrowa and Coroner Gary Grittner, States Attorney Tom P. Maher and Treasurer Bill Konst. The Commission will reorganize for 2025, then meet with David Reiss and the Central South Dakota Enhancement District to consider a statement of extension to the joint preoperative agreement between the two. Fairgrounds Manager Scott Deal will meet with Commissioners about a water truck and Highway Superintendent Lee Smith will discuss a John Deere scraper. Commissioners will consider two abatements and Board Appointments, the designation of official places of sale and department purchase policy. Resolutions will be considered regarding official banks, newspaper, burial and funeral assistance, claims and travel. Commissioners will meet twice in executive session for personnel and care of the poor then consider a resolution approving salaries and wages for 2025. The Stanley County Commission meets tonight at five pm at the Stanley County Courthouse in Fort Pierre.
