The Stanley County Buffaloes will close out the 2024 calendar with a split of the Philip Scotties on Thursday. The girls would fall 63-40 while the boys would pick up a 65-31 win.
The Stanley County girls shot well to begin the game and were tied 12-12 after the first quarter. However, too many turnovers and missed shots would doom the Lady Buffs who were outscored 34-17 over the next two quarters. Addi Deal had the team high 17 points on the night as Austyn Norman had eight points. Stanley County drops to 1-4 on the season while Philip gets its first win and is 1-2.
The Stanley County boys would enact the running clock in the fourth quarter as they were on fire from the start leading 21-5 after the first quarter. Kaden Montana dropped in a game high 23 points which included 12 in the first quarter. Eddie Duffy had 13 for the two in double figures. Paxton Deal added nine for Stanley County who is now 2-2. Philip drops to 1-2.
Stanley County is now off until Friday, January 3 when they travel to Selby for a doubleheader against the Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines.
