The Oahe Capitals Girls varsity team would finish a three game weekend sweep of the Sioux Center Storm on Sunday with a 4-2 victory improving to 5-1 on the season.
The Capitals would go up 3-0 before Sioux Center would score as Kalle Behm would get the lone first period goal on the power play. Mallory Lehrkamp and Dakota McEntaffer would each score in the second to make it 3-0 and Brylee Kafka made it 4-1 in the third to keep Sioux Center at a distance throughout the game. Oahe would pepper 49 shots on goal as Victoria Pendergrass would make 45 saves, her best showing of the weekend. Sophia Peschong would get the win in net for Oahe stopping 15 of 17 shots. Sioux Center drops to 1-8-1.
The Capitals will have another three game weekend in the final portion of 2024. Oahe will host Rushmore on Friday prior to heading to Watertown on Saturday and Sunday. All three games will be on the air on Capital City Rock.
