Enplanements have been steadily increasing since August when one-thousand 169 passengers used Pierre Regional. That was followed by September at 13-60, October at 15-38 at November’s 17-67. Year-to-date, Pierre enplanements are down 894 from this time last year. Last November, enplanements were 17-94, with 17-87 to Denver and seven on the inaugural Minneapolis flights. Huizenga says Pierre’s air service is almost too good…
Huizenga also noted that the U-S Department of Transportation is seeking proposals for Pierre’s Essential Air Service contract. That window opened on Wednesday and will be open until January 6th. No proposals to serve Pierre have been submitted as of Tuesday night.
