Capitals Can’t Comeback, Swept in Yankton

The Oahe Capitals tried to comeback from a three goal deficit on Sunday against the Yankton Bucks as they made it 3-2, but would fall 5-2 going 0-2 on the weekend.

Jack Pedersen and Kylen O’Connor would each score in the first period to take a 2-0 lead before Kaden Hunhoff would make it 3-0 early in the second. Then Dylan Dodson would get the first goal of the year slamming in a rebound and on a 5-on-3, Dodson would feed Keegan Kitts a one-timer to score to make it 3-2. However, less than a minute later and the Capitals still on the power play, Yankton would get a short handed breakaway as Hunhoff would bury his second of the game. Pedersen would find the empty net late in the third for the final tally.

The Capitals would get 30 shots on net, but Luke Moeller would make 28 saves. Jaxon Jungwirth had 32 saves on 36 shots against in the loss for the Capitals.

Oahe is now 0-2 on the season and will travel to Rapid City next Saturday to face the Rushmore Thunder who went 3-0 this past weekend. Coverage Saturday night will be 8:10 Central Time and puck drop at 8:30 on Capital City Rock and on YouTube at Capital City Rock Sports.
