PIERRE, (KCCR) — A truck driver was ticketed last week after getting his double trailer stuck under the Pierre railroad viaduct. The crash happened Wednesday around seven pm when a Federal Express truck hauling double pup trailers attempted passing under the shorter than standard underpass. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says Thomas Zachman of St. Paul, Minnesota attempted to back up, which caused damage to the truck as well as the first trailer. The bridge, again, appeared to sustain no damage from the collision. Northbound traffic on Pierre Street, which doubles as U-S Highways 14 and 83 through Pierre, was closed for about an hour while crews attempted to de-wedge the wiggle wagon. Zachman was cited by Pierre police for failure to obey a traffic signal.
