Two Winner Men Sentenced To Federal Prison For Drive-By Shooting Incident

PIERRE, (KCCR) — Two Winner men have been sentenced to federal prison time for their role in a drive-by shooting in Winner Tribal Housing. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 19 year-old Arthur Black Bull and 22 year-old Therryn Black Horse were sentenced last week for Assault With a Dangerous Weapon. Black Bull was sentenced to 10 years while Black Horse was given a five-year sentence. Both are to serve five years of supervised release after prison. On April 13th of 2023 the men drove past the victim’s residence when Black Horse wanted to scare the victim because of an earlier disagreement. Black Bull shot at the residence with a nine-millimeter pistol, striking the residence. The victim and his family were at home at the time, but not injured in the shooting. Shell casings collected at the scene were later connected to the pistol, which was recovered during a traffic stop a month later. The firearm was traced back to Black Bear. Both men pleaded guilty in August and were turned over the U-S Marshals Service to begin serving their sentences.
