New Gas Station Proposed For Northeast Pierre

New Gas Station Proposed For Northeast Pierre

PIERRE, (KCCR) — A plat change introduced this week by the Pierre City Commission is the first step in bringing a new gas station to northeast Pierre. City Planner Emeline Post says the plat change would combine two lots in the Brookstone Addition near The Fieldhouse…

Post says the site will have multiple accesses from local roads…

A 10 foot utility easement is in place along the north, west and south sides of the property. The city has been working with the South Dakota Department of Transportation on the request given the proposed station’s proximity to Garfield Avenue which is the U-S Highway 14/83 truck bypass route. A total of 14 commercial lots were approved in the Brookstone Addition back in March of 2005. According to a site plan included in the Pierre City Commission packet, the convenience store would be 65-hundred square feet with a drive through window on the west side. The site also includes proposed space for a two-thousand square-foot quick serve restaurant. Large vehicle parking would be dedicated on the site’s south side and space for future electric vehicle charging stations are proposed on the site’s northeast side.
