PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission will hold it’s final regular meeting of September tonight. In special business the Commission will hear an update from Avera St. Mary’s Hospital and will consider passage of a three item consent calendar. The calendar includes minutes from the September 17th meeting, claims and setting a public hearing for the downtown autumn wine walk on October 19th. A public hearing will be held to consider a conditional use permit filed by Milton Morris. Public hearings will also be held for two plat change requests in the joint jurisdictional area which will take place as a joint meeting with the Hughes County Commission. Commissioners will introduce a replat request in the Brookstone Addition and will consider approval of a joint powers agreement with the South Dakota Department of Transportation for the Euclid reconstruction project. Also on the agenda for the Pierre City Commission is close out and acceptance of the Washbay project with Sharpe Enterprises, personnel equipment purchases for the police department and authorization for sanitary sewer repairs. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building at 5:30 pm. The meeting is open to the public.
