PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Hughes County Commission is meeting tonight because of the Labor Day holiday. The group usually meets on Mondays but due to the holiday has been shifted to Tuesday. The Commission will consider approval of the claims and minutes from the August 19th meeting before moving on to the main agenda. A public hearing will be held at 5:30 pm on the 2025 county budget. First consideration will be given to two plat change requests. The changes are in the Morris Addition and Hinkley Subdivision. Both items are in the joint jurisdictional area and have had their introductions with the Pierre City Commission. The Commission will consider personnel items before having more budget discussions and hearing reports from the Auditor and Commission liaisons. The Hughes County Commission meets tonight in the commission chambers on the second floor of the Hughes County Courthouse at 5:30 pm.
