PRESHO, (KCCR) — A 59 year-old man was killed Monday in a motorcycle/vehicle crash in Lyman County. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened Monday around two-pm on South Dakota Highway 248 in Presho. The preliminary crash investigation indicates the 59 year-old man was driving a 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he exited Interstate 90 at Exit 225 and continued north on 305th Avenue toward Presho. The man did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Highway 248 and 305th Avenue when he struck a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 that was traveling west on Highway 248 driving out of Presho. The motorcycle spun and traveled into the north ditch where it rolled and the driver became separated from the motorcycle. The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet at the time. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from injuries suffered in the crash. The 39 year-old driver of the Dodge was using a seat belt and was not injured in the crash. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family.
