PIERRE, (KCCR) — River City Transit is one of three organizations awarded funds by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. The Board of Economic Development has awarded River City’s parent Community Coordinated Transportation Systems a South Dakota Works loan of up to 375-thousand dollars. The money will be utilized for River City Transit to purchase a new building for housing buses and vehicles and office space for a location in Sioux Falls. The money is coming from the Reinvestment Payment Program. Parker Hannifin of Yankton was approved for the Reinvestment Payment Program of up to 50-percent, but not exceeding 100-thousand 219 dollars of the state sales and use tax they will pay as a part of the project. The manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket filtration products will use the award to build a new can-making line to increase production to meet demand and add 14 new jobs. S-F-C Global Supply Chain, Incorporated has been approved for an R-P-P grant of up to 100-percent of state sales and use tax paid on their 750-million dollars project to manufacture Asian-style food with a state-of-the-art plant. The plant would add an estimated 650 full-time jobs.
