Middle Innings Spring Lake County to Second Straight Win over Sioux Falls

The Sioux Falls Canaries would fall victim to the Lake County DockHounds for the second straight game, this time with an 11-7 behind eight runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Ryan Hernandez and Josh Altmann each had solo shots in the five run fourth inning for Lake County as Hernandez would finish two homers in the game and Chavez Young also had a homer for the DockHounds. Down 10-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth, the Canaries tried to mount its comeback which included a three run shot by Jabari Henry as Sioux Falls pulled within 10-6, but only got one more run with a lead off home run by Liam Spence in the bottom of the sixth. Jordan Barth also homered for the Canaries while Pierre’s Spencer Sarringar would go 0-3 with a walk.

The Canaries fall to 43-33 and still have a half game lead in the west division. Sioux Falls and Lake County will finish the series today with first pitch at 4:05 at the Birdcage.
