As for warnings this year Jackson County has had 34 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued followed by Haakon at 27, Ziebach and Mellette at 22 and 13 for Tripp County. One Tornado Warning has been issued for Haakon, Jackson and Mellette Counties. Brule County has had eight Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and no Tornado Warnings. Dewey County leads the way from the Aberdeen office with 25 Thunderstorm and one Tornado Warning. Stanley, Hand and Hyde Counties have had 18 Thunderstorm Warnings with 15 in Sully, 14 in Hughes, 11 in Potter and Lyman, seven in Jones and five in Buffalo County. Jones County is the only county other than Dewey to have a Tornado Warning issued so far this year in central South Dakota.
